No Labels said it will not be running a third-party candidate to challenge President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. The centrist political group said it was unable to find a candidate with a credible path to winning the election in a statement on Thursday (April 4).

"Today, No Labels is ending our effort to put forth a Unity ticket in the 2024 presidential election," the political group said. "No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House. No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down."

The group had considered several candidates, including former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who both unsuccessfully challenged Trump in the Republican primary. Kentucky and New Hampshire Governors Andy Beshear and Chris Sununu were also considered, along with Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy.

The decision to suspend efforts to field a candidate comes after the group's founder, former Senator Joe Lieberman, died last week at the age of 82 following complications from a fall.
