Hmmm . . .why did this take almost a week?  More importantly, why don’t these “Leaders” of the Democrat Party in Minnesota call for Representative Gauthier’s immediate resignation?  Even if he says he is not running for re-election, Representative Gauthier’s name will remain on the ballot this year.  So what is this statement from the DFL Party Chair and the DFL leaders in the legislature?  Is this anything more than political double-speak?  They know full well their words are hollow.  What is needed is action.  Specifically, REPRESENTATIVE GAUTHIER SHOULD RESIGN IMMEDIATELY.  I suspect Chair Martin and House Minority Leader Thissen figure that it is better to take a position than to take no position at all but in this case someone should call them to the carpet for issuing meaningless political statements while ignoring the reality of their colleague’s depraved sexual behavior and his impact on a 17 year old boy and the community he represents.
