The Star Tribune has information on new taxes suggested by Gov. Dayton's task force on transportation -- and they could effect everything from sales taxes to gas taxes and vehicle fees.

Here's the lowdown on the task force's report:

- The task force calls "for raising taxes by $20 billion over 20 years and for shifting transit funding from the state to metro governments."

- A gas tax to "bring in an extra $15 billion and increasing the motor vehicle registration fees by 10 percent to raise another $1 billion."

- A half-cent increase in the Twin Cities-area sales tax to fund metro transit.

- Expanding the MnPASS electronic tolling system.

What do you think about this? Is it a good idea to shift the tax burden from state to local governments? Are you concerned about an increase at the pump?
