Sen. Roger Reinert of Duluth introduced a bill Monday that would allow licensed retailers to sell wine, beer and liquor on Sundays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But he said the bill doesn’t have much chance of passage, or even a hearing, unless Minnesotans get engaged in the Sunday liquor sales issue.

“I’m giving this a venue,” Reinert said. He introduced a similar bill in 2011 that he says raised an issue that a majority of residents, when asked, would like changed. “More than 80 percent of Minnesotans want to see this.”
