To hear Howard Stern conduct an informal poll in Harlem:
CCHF Legislative Action Alert - Minnesota
Friday, March 23, 2012
Please come. On Monday evening, March 26 (6:00 p.m.), there will be a hearing at the State Capitol on a bill to build, establish and implement an Obamacare exchange ("takeover center"). SF 1872, authored by Senator Tony Lourey (D-Kerrick), is deceptively called the "Minnesota Insurance Marketplace Act."
Another bill we've testified against will also be heard: SF 2255 (Gerlach). As several lawyers have informed us, despite the author's best intentions, the bill could give Governor Dayton legal cover for implementing a government health insurance exchange. The bill says if an exchange is created, here is a list of what it cannot do.
Your attendance is essential. With all the bills being proposed this session that include pieces of Obamacare language -- or possibly open the door to authorizing the exchange -- we need a strong show of force at this hearing. Supporters of the exchange will likely be there in force to support Sen. Lourey's bill.
Date: Monday, March 26
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Committee: Senate Health and Human Services
Place: Room 15 (under the Rotunda)
Building: Minnesota State Capitol
Address: 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155
Parking (bring quarters) - NOTE: most on-street parking is free after 4:30 p.m.
If you would like to testify, please contact Brad Biers at (651)296-4151 or email@example.com
Please let us know you're coming. Email Sheri at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to have enough "stickers" for you to wear to show your opposition to the exchange.
I look forward to seeing you Monday evening!
